The course content meets the core curriculum of the regulatory bodies at the time of accreditation and gaining the qualification permits entry to the voluntary Association of Reflexologists and Complementary and Natural Health Care Council.

On qualification students will receive the VTCT/ITEC Diploma which is designed to prove occupational competency for employment.

The Level 3 Diploma in Reflexology for the Complementary Therapist follows a module framework.

In-person sessions cover the practical element, while supporting good practice.

On-line modules allow students to work through the theory elements at their own pace.

Assignments and case studies are for completion in the students’ own time.

The practical element of this unit is taught via in-person sessions held roughly twice-monthly.

Theory elements are studied via on-line modules, with support during the practical sessions

During practical classes, students must be prepared to practice with each other under supervision.

Students must undertake and document 100 reflexology treatments, for their portfolio of evidence.

In addition, there are several short assignments to complete.

The course culminates in a formal practical assessment.

All learners will be finally assessed via a practical examination by the external (ITEC) examiner. The portfolio of evidence and assignments are assessed internally by the college tutor and verified by the external (ITEC) examiner.

Level 2 award is a stand-alone certificate.

This knowledge-based qualification is aimed at complementary and sports massage therapists, who need to understand the COVID-19 infection prevention methods required in the working environment in order to maintain high levels of health and safety in the provision of their services to clients.

principles and practice of complementary therapies

This unit requires students to demonstrate a knowledge of other commonly available complementary therapies.

Students select four complementary therapies to research and document, including:

  • Concept, origins and development
  • Therapy objectives
  • Regulations and legal obligations
  • Training required
  • Key aspects of good clinical practice

This self-study unit, completed at your own pace,  is supported by a series of on-line modules that provide guidance on completing the assessed coursework.

This is assessed internally by the college tutor and verified by the external (ITEC) examiner.

 

This unit ensures that, as well as becoming a competent reflexologist, students are able to demonstrate their understanding of the work place and are capable of starting their own business if desired.

Students are expected to plan and prepare a business plan for a potential complementary practice.

The business plans requires understanding and documenting of the legal requirements and legislation for small businesses as well as other considerations such as marketing and company image.
